The conceptual stage of designing a food and beverage operation can be the most thrilling and yet unnerving experience of your career. There are so many details, so many options and so many decisions to make; that the process of starting your business can feel like it's never going to end... But it will and you will make the decisions you feel are best for you and your business, but how difficult this process is depends on the design & construction team you develop to bring your concept to life.
Whether you envision an open kitchen concept pizzeria, sushi bar, back of the house microbrewery or white tablecloth restaurant in the heart of a thriving metropolis, they all have one thing in common... To be successful, there are steps that need to be taken to ensure your ideas move from dream to reality in the most flawless way possible. This is where Mise Design Group comes in...
If you are working with an architect, interior designer or just putting an idea to paper yourself, Mise Designs can help you place that final piece in the project puzzle. Designing the perfect kitchen is a process not unlike following a tried and true recipe. If the recipe is followed and executed by someone who understands it and all of its complexities, the results can bring cheers of approval from even the most discerning palate. Depending on where you are in the process, and with what other industry experts you are currently working with, your Mise Design Consultant can either lead the operations design process or act as a subcontractor to a design firm you have already commissioned.
Regardless of your genre, the process always begins with your "Mise en Place," and the mise en place of design; does start with your concept, but begins with your local Health Officials. Your Mise Designer initiates contact with your local health officials and obtains for you all the forms necessary to begin and submit for the application process*. We guide you step by step through the arduous details of your local health code Plan Review process, ensuring your operation is designed to specification from the beginning; saving you precious time and money. Prior to submitting your application, plans, or renderings will need to be generated for submittal that clearly shows that all health codes are met prior to the construction beginning. The biggest benefit you receive in our initiating this process, is to prevent improperly prepared forms and plans from being submitted, which if returned requiring revisions, could delay a projects progress, wasting valuable resources needed for start up and operating capital.
Once we've received all the necessary documents from your local authority, we thoroughly review your concept in detail with you as to not only share in your vision, but understand your concept's needs and limitations in order to be successful.
The next step is for your Mise Designer to begin putting pen to paper utilizing the most up to date AutoCAD design technology available, for ease of use by any trade involved with your project. Utilizing this technology we will create a multitude of renderings that will be needed to facilitate the application and construction process for your new business concept.
These rendering services normally include:

*Note: Building Permit fees and submittal of plans to the Health Department are the
responsibility of the client.
We can provided some or all of the services mentioned above based on your project needs, but our focus goes far beyond the normal client and consultant relationship and the people involved in them. We pride ourselves on being there not just as your consultant and adviser, but as your partner for as long as you and your business need us.
Points of note:
Mise Design Group, LLC is not licensed as architects or mechanical engineers. However, plans are distributed in AutoCAD format to an architect or contractor for the purpose of adding detail or obtaining construction bids or submittal for building permits. The facility's representative will need to check with their hired contractor and local building authority to determine what plans and documentation are required to secure a building permit. The renderings and specifications provided by Mise Design Group, LLC are not intended to replace architectural or engineering plans that may be required by the local building authority. For this reason, the following items are not included with purchased consultation services.
